Overall happiness level

After almost one month back home, I can easily say that the best thing around here is how people interact with each other. We say good morning, good afternoon and good evening to strangers, passers-by, colleagues, whoever. We talk about politics in the bus. We ask about random things. And we smile!

Last Friday, in the bus, the "cobrador" (here, we have a person inside the bus just to collect the money from people; not like in Finland that the driver drives *and* collects the money) was talking about the recent corruption crisis in the local government and about what he would do if he got elected. It made me feel so well! It really feels like our "overall happiness level" is much higher than that of other countries that I've been to -- with the honourable exception of Hungary, maybe :)

It was funny to get the "warm feelings" for my culture on that very day, because it was also the first day I really felt the homesickness coming strong. I think it was some pictures of the white snow that covers Finland right now.
